Lab Member Maxime Charest Presents at AIDS 2022
Lab member Maxime Charest recently presented at the 24th International AIDS Conference in Montreal (AIDS 2022)!
The presentation, which took the form of an e-poster, included findings from interviews with clinicians and community workers (CWs) which asked about their perspectives on task shifting HIV prevention services in Toronto, Canada. Clinicians and CWs agreed that certain tasks could be performed by CWs in AIDS service organizations, such as rapid HIV testing and supporting self-testing for STBBIs. Participants also felt that certain tasks around PrEP (e.g., pre-counselling, follow-up, adherence counselling) could be performed by CWs. Task shifting has the potential to provide more accessible HIV prevention services for cis and trans, 2-spirit, gay, bi and other guys into guys.
